Proactive Policing Activity in Wardleworth

Officers conducted a stop search under Section 1 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE) in the Wardleworth area.

The search was carried out based on reasonable grounds relating to the suspected possession of controlled drugs and/or bladed articles.During the encounter, one youth was found to be in possession of cannabis. Appropriate safeguarding measures were taken, and a referral was made to the Youth Offending Team (YOT) to ensure the individual receives the necessary support.

Stop and search powers are used proportionately to prevent crime, protect the public, and safeguard young people within our communities.
